Split counts a single impression each time one of your users is exposed to a feature you’re controlling in Split. Let’s look at a couple of examples:
- A user visits a page in which one feature, a new search bar, is being controlled by Split.
Split logs an impression for that user, with metadata including a generic, anonymized ID, the treatment shown, and SDK used. Split will log an impression no matter which treatment is shown, including the control or ‘off’ state.
- A user visits a page in which many features are controlled by Split.
An impression will be registered for every feature under Split control, again including any feature set to the ‘off’ state. If there are five features on the page being controlled by Split, five impressions are logged.
